Wow. Amazing video.

Now, what to do about the newspapers? I liked an idea I heard to make or allow more of them to become non-profit organizations.

There was a cutting line in this video about it not being the job of the media to entertain and play on our emotions... For newspapers at least, the motive of profit... is actually more of a motive for survival... and it can drive them down this path of least resistance.

Unfortunately they struggle anyway.

The Detroit Free Press recently won a Pulitzer for the kind of Journalism Kennedy was demanding in this clip. It's investigation of a corrupt mayor led to his dismissal, and ultimately a fresh new leadership in Detroit (Dave Bing). Time will tell how effective Dave Bing will be as a leader, but he may never have gotten the chance had the Free Press not done its job.
