National Hispanic Leaders Endorse Saul Anuzis for RNC Chair
Monday, December 27th, 2010National Hispanic Leaders Endorse Saul Anuzis for RNC Chair
A national group of Hispanic-American Leaders support Saul Anuzis for RNC Chair
Dec 27, 2010 (Washington DC), Hispanic Leaders for Saul, a group of leaders who are proud Americans, proud Republicans, and proud of their Hispanic heritage, realize that the Republican Party needs a Chairman who can not only provide visionary leadership and strong day-to-day management, but who will also strengthen relationships with the Hispanic community.
Bush won well over 40% of the Hispanic vote and McCain won slightly over 30% of the Hispanic vote. Key races in California and Nevada were won by Democrats as a result of the Hispanic vote. Additionally, the Hispanics-American vote is growing in influence with 9% of the eligible electorate and 9.9 million Hispanics having voted in the 2009 elections. With the continued rapid growth of the U.S. Hispanic population, Hispanics will play an even greater role in local, statewide and national elections for the foreseeable future, especially in battleground states and key congressional districts.
This group of national leaders strongly believes Republicans will need to win over 40% of the Hispanic vote if Republicans are going to win nationally in 2012. It is important that the next RNC Chairman hits the ground running to build momentum and support within the Hispanic community. We are honored that this is a strength that Saul has compared with the candidates for Chairman.
Specifically, we are excited about the demonstrated leadership Saul brings that makes him ideal to help us earn over 40% of the Hispanic vote. Below are a few examples:
• Being Present in The Hispanic Community – Saul has spoken at many community events that featured a strong representation of people with diverse backgrounds, including a recently gathering of Hispanic- American leaders at the Heritage Foundation. We need a Chairman like Saul who has been able to articulate to the community, common values of faith, family, freedom, free-enterprise and education. This has enabled Saul to build a strong national network of Hispanic Leaders.
• Investing Resources in the Community- As Chairman of the GOP Saul invested resources in community events, parades, festivals, and would go to places in our Hispanic community that many Republicans would never go.
• Technology/Social Media Leadership – This Hispanic community is the fasting growing segment on-line and Saul’s mastery, thought leadership, and continuous utilization of technology will be imperative as we win in 2012. Saul has had more social media interactions than other candidates running against him have had this past year (combined). Our party needs a technology savvy leader and thought leader in social media if we are going to win in 2012 as a large percentage of our Hispanic community are coming online.
• Rich Perspective – Saul is the bilingual the son of immigrants and has a rich perspective that can be brought as we continue to connect and share the values of our Party with the Hispanic community.
• Leadership – Whether it is leading the GOP at the local, state, or national level; fundraising, technology leadership, or social media leadership, Saul’s leadership across these areas and his hard work resonates, excites and inspires this group of leaders and we believe his leadership integrating all of these areas will enable a stronger GOP.
For these reasons and more we are reaching out and asking Republican National Committee Members across this great nation to support Saul to help strengthen our party, advance the values we share, and help us better connect with a vital group of Americans who shares many values with our Republican Party.
A few examples of top national Hispanic leaders who are supporting Saul Anuzis include the following Leaders.
• Jose Aliaga
• Rick Aguilar
• State Senator Valde Garcia
• Enrique Geraldo
• Ken Gonzalez
• David Olivencia
• Ramiro Ramirez
• Pablo Schneider
• Francisco “Pancho” Vega

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
I wish you and your family all the best this coming year. I hope you enjoyed this time with your family and friends as we remember to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Quick Update – RNC
RNC candidates will participate in a live debate in Washington about their experience, positions and the future of our Republican party. The debate will be televised on C-Span on January 3rd at 2:00pm EST.
And NOW there are SIX announced candidates for RNC Chairman: Chairman Michael Steele announced he would seek a second term and joining the campaign are former Bush Administration Official Maria Cino, former RNC Political Director Gentry Collins, former RNC Legal Counsel & WI Chair Reince Priebus, Ambassador Ann Wagner and myself.
The election will be held on January 12-15 at the RNC Winter Meeting.
Handicapping the RNC chair race
Anuzis “tied” at #2: “two tiers of candidates have begun to emerge with the top three seen as potential winners and the bottom three regarded as longer shots although, given the number of undecided voters and the unpredictability of the ballot process, it’s hard to count anyone totally out at the moment.”

Fundraising Matters – MI GOP Finance Chair
Fundraising is going to be a critical task for the next Chairman. Having someone who understands both the challenge and the task at hand is critical. Given our success in Michigan, I believe I’m uniquely qualified in this regard. See what Michigan Republican Finance Chairman Robert Schostak has to say about my efforts & successes.

Texas Conservative RNC Member Endorses
“Saul knows that it is the RNC Chairman’s responsibility to control our message, not to be our message. He truly believes in smaller government, lower taxes and less regulation, and knows and can employ the ideas of Bastiat, Von Mises, Hayek and other conservative icons. He is a member of the NRA, and supports a strong national defense and secure borders. Proud of his Lithuanian heritage, he is a faithful Roman Catholic and is committed to traditional family values. Saul will promote and articulate an effective message consistent with the core principles of our platform.”

Morton Blackwell’s Crystal Ball – I Agree!
“There are a number of candidates who have support, and so the candidate who eventually wins is going to be the second choice of a lot of people,” says Blackwell, a supporter of former Michigan GOP chief Saul Anuzis. “I think Saul may have an advantage in that respect because he’s liked by a lot of members.”

Friday, December 24th, 2010Michigan GOP Finance Chairman Endorses Anuzis
Friday, December 24th, 2010Below is an endorsement letter from the Michigan Republican Party’s Finance Chairman, Bob Schostak.
During my two terms as Chairman of the Michigan GOP, we raised over $29 million and purchased a new party headquarters…increasing our working space from 5,000 sq ft to just over 15,000 sq ft. The new building was put into a trust and completely paid off in three years.
This cycle under the leadership of our new Chairman Ron Weiser and our Finance Chairman they built on our base and raised a record sum on behalf of Michigan Republicans in excess of $25 million!
Fundraising is going to be a critical task for the next Chairman. Having someone who understands both the challenge and the task at hand is critical. Given our success in Michigan, I believe I’m uniquely qualified in this regard.
Saul
————————————————————-
As a donor to the Michigan Republican Party, I have had the opportunity to work with Saul Anuzis for the past decade, including serving on an interim basis as his Party Finance Chairman in 2008.
In the recently completed election cycle, I served as Finance Chairman for the entire term and had the opportunity to see firsthand Saul’s accomplishments across our state.
His relationships with the grassroots activists and the donor community are amongst the best in the history of our statewide party. Saul brought new donors to the party and demonstrated the ability to work with the donor community to fund the Republican Party agenda. His strong relationships with donors helped me with my current efforts as Finance Chairman. I regularly reached out to Saul and always appreciated his advice.
No one works harder then Saul in representing conservative values throughout our state and country. He works day and night in helping Republicans get elected in Michigan and across the United States. Saul is a dynamic, effective communicator and a nonstop fundraiser continuously telegraphing the Republican message. In addition, he is an incredible motivator.
Quite simply, no one works harder than Saul to get Republicans elected.
As we look forward to 2012, Republicans have a real opportunity to add to the gains of 2010. With the right leadership, Republicans can expand leadership in the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, and defeat Barack Obama.
Saul Anuzis is the right leader to be the Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman and I wholeheartedly support his campaign for RNC Chair. His leadership at the RNC will help lead the way to elect a Republican President.
Best regards,
Robert I. Schostak, Finance Chairman
Michigan Republican Party
Texas National Committeeman’s Endorsement Letter
Tuesday, December 21st, 2010Dear Friend,
Last Friday I endorsed Saul Anuzis for Chairman of the RNC.
Over the past several years I have gotten to know Saul well enough to be confident that he is the right person to guide us out of our present difficult circumstances and upward through the next two years to even greater victory over the Democrat Party.
Saul understands that the obligations of the RNC Chairman are to make sure the organization operates well, raise money and control the message of the RNC, in that order of priority. Currently our organization is not running well at all and is disastrously deficient in fundraising. Our message over the last election cycle left much to be desired.
Saul’s experience as an extremely successful entrepreneur and business operator, and as an equally successful chairman of the Michigan party, gives me great assurance that he can manage a large organization. He has the management skills that we need at the helm of the RNC.
Likewise, he has been an extremely successful fundraiser, and understands that we must earn the trust of large and small donors, increase their numbers and encourage them to maximize their donations. Simply put, Saul demonstrated his outstanding ability by funding the budget and candidates of a minority party during hard times in an economically challenged state.
Saul knows that it is the RNC Chairman’s responsibility to control our message, not to be our message. Saul will promote and articulate an effective message consistent with the core principles of our platform.
I enthusiastically support Saul’s candidacy for the chairmanship of the RNC, and urge you to join me.

The Corner
Morton Blackwell’s Crystal Ball
December 20, 2010 11:39 A.M.
By Brian Bolduc
Morton Blackwell, the Republican national committeeman for Virginia and president of the Leadership Institute, tells National Review Online he expects the next chairman of the RNC to be most members’ second choice.
The committee, Blackwell explains, “meets only twice a year — sometimes three times a year.” Its meetings are highly scripted, and its membership suffers high turnover, so “a majority of the members don’t know a majority of their fellow members.”
The Virginian has another prediction: “I think it is likely that the committee will not elect a chairman who is not now or has not recently been a member of the RNC.” If true, it bodes ill for Maria Cino and Gentry Collins, two longtime political aides who have never sat on the committee.
Still, Blackwell hedges, “I’m cautious about crystal-ball gazing because I’ve observed that people who make their living crystal-ball gazing sometimes have to eat ground glass.”
Blackwell says he has “given no thought to who a second choice for me would be.” The other Virginians on the committee, Pat Mullins and Kathy Terry, have yet to endorse candidates. Asked whether his fellow residents of the Old Dominion have preferred candidates, Blackwell wryly observes, “They are very good friends of mine. You may interpret that any way you wish.”

My email program crashed and I had a few days of limited and “missing” emails…coming and going. I haven’t been ignoring you, your email is just probably out there in cyber space:)

As a consensus for “change” grows, I’m remain one of the leading candidates to replace Chairman Steele, consistently holding a strong second place amongst the challengers.
Given the timing, I suspect this will be the field going into the January 12-15 RNC Winter Meeting, when the election for Chairman will be held.

In response to a question about the American Elect Party, Thomas informed the Board that he believed it was the New York City Mayor Michael BLOOMBERG party.”
