Pathetic: Democrats for Santorum – Dirty Tricks

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Good morning —

As the Primary Election Day gets rolling this morning I felt it very important to pass along some extremely disturbing news out of the Rick Santorum campaign. It seems that he has chosen to throw his hat in with the Barack Obama, Democrats and union bosses.

Last night the Santorum campaign admitted to engaging in automated robo-calls targeted to known Democrats in some of the most Democratic leaning areas of the state. His request was simple and the same request Mark Brewer from the Michigan Democratic Party was making this past week – Democrats, please cross over and vote in the Michigan Presidential Primary taking place today.

This is no way for a person to act that wants to be the Republican nominee to take on President Obama in the fall. As a leader in the party and someone who cares about making sure Republicans are voting for our Republican nominee, I urge all Republicans in Michigan to denounce these “dirty tricks.” The Democrats already picked their candidate and we have been paying for that decision ever since. Lets make sure we do not let them do it again.

Please join us in condemning this behavior and sending a strong message that Republicans, not Democrats, should be choosing our party’s nominee.

Nine Takeaways From the Arizona Debate
Romney came out on top. He looked and sounded the most presidential, and that matters in campaigns. Santorum tried, but got caught up in his “Washington insider” rhetoric and record that he couldn’t get away from.

Romney shifts strategy
“Too many people look at this as a sprint,” said Saul Anuzis, a member of the Republican National Committee from Michigan and a supporter of Romney. “It’s a lot closer to being a game of ‘Survivor,’ with who can put together a national network to win across the country.”

http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/140441793.html

“A Tax Reform to Restore America’s Prosperity”
“More jobs, less debt, smaller government. That is the goal America must reach if we are to restore its promise. Getting there requires that we replace President Obama, who has gone in the opposite direction with a stagnant economy, trillion-dollar deficits, and a proposal for the largest tax increase in history. But let’s not replace the president’s profligacy with pie-in-the-sky proposals that saddle future generations of Americans with heavy burdens.

The plan I am proposing is far-reaching yet realistic. It will bring us a federal government that does what it needs to, that lives within its means, and that uses pro-growth tax policy to raise necessary funds and not a dollar more.” – Mitt Romney

“Bankrupt” Headline: An Unfair Albatross for Romney?“Those four words have played an outsize role in the Michigan primary race between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. It’s the headline that topped an op-ed Romney wrote for the New York Times on Nov. 18, 2008, in which he asserted that the troubled American auto companies should go through a “managed bankruptcy” rather than receive a government bailout…There’s just one small thing to consider: Mitt Romney didn’t write the headline.”

Michigan Dems, Independents Should Vote for Santorum in Michigan Primary
So what are the Democrats saying: “Don’t be distracted by the sideshow. Santorum matters little on Tuesday. He is only a convenient vessel to embarrass Romney on the national stage.”

Don’t let a Democrat STEAL your vote…make sure you go out let your voice be heard. Politics makes strange bedfellows and Santorum is in the weeds with the worst.

Vote Tuesday…it’s our Republican nominee, not a “sideshow” for the Democrats. You would hope most Democrats would show some class.

“Some” Democrats Want to Play in our Republican Primary – Another Good Reason to Register by Party and Have Closed Primaries.
”The progressive effort to deliver a Santorum victory in Michigan is two-pronged—suppress pro-Romney voters and increase turnout among Democrats willing to further cast anti-Romney votes. The two approaches are complimentary because, ultimately, the goal is the same: a Romney loss in Michigan, and a GOP nomination contest that gets dragged out that much longer.”

You Thought Solyndra Was Bad? There’s More On the Way“Of the stimulus grants so far, more than 80 percent have gone to wind farms (covering up to 30% of all project costs). A Meadow Lake wind development project in Indiana that is owned and operated by Horizon Wind Energy received $276 million. Horizon is a wholly owned subsidiary of EDP Renovaveis, a Portuguese company. The turbines are manufactured by Vestas in Denmark, and are mounted atop 350 foot towers imported from Vietnam. EDP and Horizon also own and operate the Blackstone wind farm in Illinois that received a $171 million grant.

When it comes to breezy U.S. wind shenanigans, Robert Bryce, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, believes that General Electric’s Shepherd Flat project in northern Oregon is worst in blowing lots of taxpayer resources. Not only did the Energy Department give GE and their partners a $1.6 billion loan guarantee, but as soon as the turbines start running, the Treasury Department will ante up an additional $490 million cash grant.”

Why Some Friends Vote for Democrats???
When your “friends” cannot explain why they vote for Democrats, give them this list. They can then pick their reasons from this “TOP 13″…

When I assess their situation, I find the most common is #13.

1. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

2. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

3. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

4. I vote Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

5. I vote Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

6. I vote Democrat because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

7. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

8. I vote Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

9. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

10. I vote Democrat because I think that it’s better to pay billions to people who hate us, for their oil, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle or gopher.

11. I vote Democrat because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world, I was promised “HOPE AND CHANGE”.

12. I vote Democrat because I’m convinced that the Government should control everyone’s health and tell everyone how to best run their own lives, based on their success with Social Security, the Post Office, the economy, controlling the border . . .

13. I vote Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my %#&, it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

Why Mitt Romney?!?

Why Mitt Romney?

Next Tuesday I will be voting for Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. I wanted to share why I have decided to publicly endorse and vote for Mitt Romney. There are four primary reasons for my support:

ONE: He is a strong leader & has a vision to make America strong & prosperous.

TWO: He is uniquely qualified to serve as President – no one is better prepared.

THREE: He can beat Barack Obama in November, early polls showing his strength.

FOUR: Mitt Romney will make Michigan competitive for Republicans in 2012 on the day he wins the nomination.

I have watched the nominating process unfold and as I have said over and over again, there is NOTHING more important for our country and our children than stopping Barack Obama and his policies.

To paraphrase William F. Buckley, I think now, more than ever, it makes sense to support the most conservative candidate who can win…Mitt Romney is that candidate and now is the time to start rallying our forces.

There are several other candidates who have offered a compelling alternative to Barack Obama and his policies. There are more that have come and gone and for one reason or another are NOT in a position to challenge the President this fall.

However, this election is so important and the task at hand so daunting I believe only the strongest, best organized, best financed and best prepared candidate can effectively challenge Barack Obama this fall across our entire country.

Romney’s focus on job creation combined with his Michigan roots and ability to relate to the hopes and dreams of native Michiganders make him Mark Brewer’s worse nightmare.
The most pressing issue facing Michigan and America is JOBS and our economy. No other candidate has the knowledge and experience creating jobs and turning things around. You can look at Mitt’s experience in turning around the Olympics, putting Massachusetts on a strong economic footing while cutting taxes 19 times and his lifetime career in the private sector.

So this coming Tuesday we have a choice as to who will be our Republican nominee?!?
Rick Santorum and his allies are making claims that somehow his policies will be “more” conservative then Mitt Romney’s if elected President. Let us put a few facts on the table.

FACT:

Romney and Santorum BOTH support reducing federal spending over a phased in period and moving towards a Balanced Budget.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support repealing Obamacare.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support a flatter tax with lower rates.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support traditional marriage.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support pro-life agenda that includes overturning Roe vs Wade.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support Right to Work legislation, although Santorum voted against it.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support a strong defense policy.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support the 2nd Amendment and don’t believe there is a need for additional gun control laws to be passed.

Romney and Santorum BOTH support eliminating and reducing burdensome regulations to help create jobs!

So what’s the difference?

FACT:

Santorum voted to increase the deficit by TRILLIONS of dollars FIVE separate times.

Santorum eagerly and proudly supports “earmarks” in deficit spending bills.

Santorum voted for federal bailouts for the Salt Lake Olympics and Airline industry.

Santorum voted to federally fund the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ and a ‘Tea Pot Museum’ amongst others.

Santorum voted for the largest expansion of federal government entitlement in our history supporting the UNFUNDED Medicare Prescription D program.

Santorum voted to confirm now Supreme Court Justice Sotomeyer to the federal bench.

Santorum endorsed party switcher and liberal Arlen Specter for the U.S. Senate.

Santorum has spent most of his career in Washington DC – 16 years in Congress and then as a corporate lobbyist. Santorum has truly become a creature of Washington DC…not of change.

Michigan clearly wants leadership with private sector experience because government has demonstrated they don’t have all the answers. America needs someone who gets it, who’s been there and done that, someone to help restore America’s confidence and greatness. We need something more than another career politician because it’s career politicians have gotten us into this mess and they aren’t going to get us out. Mitt is a conservative businessman and that’s the experience he will bring to the White House to turn our economy around.

To put it succinctly, with 25 years of experience in the private sector, Mitt Romney knows how our economy works and how to implement pro-growth policies that will produce jobs. Mitt is clearly the strongest candidate to take on President Obama and he has the skills needed to rein in spending, control our exploding deficits and bring fiscal sanity back to Washington.

Mitt Romney has taken a common sense conservative approach on issue after issue. From creating the right environment for job creation, to cutting taxes, support for a strong defense – his positions are sound. So, while some question his position as Governor on healthcare, we need to remember he was able to create their state’s program without raising taxes and by implementing a free-market plan, not a government plan. I believe that difference will be a strong issue for us when taking on Obama. He has also been clear that it was a state approach, which may not work in other states. That is why the issue should be addressed at the state level, not the federal level. And he is 100% clear on this: as President he will REPEAL Obamacare, and on day one will give all 50 states waivers from complying with Obamacare.

In the end, our goal is to put America back on the right track. We need to do whatever it takes to win this election and stop the dangerous policies of Barack Obama and his allies in the Democratic Party. They have put our country in a tenuous position economically, abroad and in my opinion – challenged the fundamental constitutional tenants of our limited republican form of government.

As the Detroit News said in their endorsement: “Mitt Romney stands alone among the Republican primary field as the candidate capable of winning the White House, and more importantly, of leading the nation to a prosperous future.”

Elections are about choices. And the stakes for our country are too high to ignore and/or just sit on our hands.

I firmly believe that Governor Mitt Romney is the right man, at the right time to step up and serve our country. As with every candidate, there will be things I don’t necessarily agree with or may have done differently myself. However, the ultimate test comes in the comparison to Barack Obama, his policies and Romney’s ability to offer our country a viable alternate.

Romney is tested, he’s ready, he’s committed and he is best prepared for the challenge ahead. I urge you to join me in voting for Mitt Romney to be our next President of the United States of America!

Mitt Romney’s the Right Choice
There is NO question in my mind…Mitt Romney is the right guy, at the right time to help turn our country around. We need his leadership, we need real life experience, we need common sense conservative values that we as conservatives and Republicans share.

Mitt Romney is that man!

I’m frustrated by the spin and negative attacks from his opponents…ironically from both Republicans and Democrats. Distorting his record, taking statements or clips out of context and just ignoring the facts seems to be the norm in politics. Democrats fear him while others Republicans want to win the nomination…I get it.

The facts are Mitt Romney is a conservative, pro-life, pro-second amendment, pro-traditional family, pro-growth, pro-smaller government, pro-tax cutting, pro-deficit reducing Republican. He supports the repeal of Obamacare and will grant an immediate waiver to every state the first day in office. He supports a strong defense and believes in American Exceptionalism. He’s an honest, hard working, family man who has live by his values…American values.

Can you find some old quote or out of context statement that frustrates or questions your faith in his position of some issue, sure. It’s not fair or representative of him or his campaign, but that’s the game.

Has he seen the light on one key issue? You bet he has! Yup, he converted to be solidly pro-life…and as any evangelical will tell you, we’ll take a convert any day! That’s how ultimately we will win on this issue.

Mitt Romney’s leadership is EXACTLY what America needs today. We need his principled, strong moral leadership to help turn America around. We need someone from OUTSIDE of Washington who knows how to get things done.

We not only need someone who knows how to do things right, but who will do the right thing.

I believe Mitt Romney is that man and I hope you will join me in supporting him!

Please take a few minutes and read over my endorsement of Mitt Romney here:

The Auto Industry Recovered Only After It Adopted Governor Romney’s Approach
• Had the federal government simply followed Governor Romney’s advice from the beginning, the auto industry would have been placed on the road to recovery sooner, taxpayers would have saved billions, and the government would not have been left as a major stakeholder in what should be a private industry.

• In 2008, Governor Romney called for a managed bankruptcy for troubled automakers, one that would protect consumers’ warranties while guaranteeing post-bankruptcy financing for the auto industry. A managed bankruptcy would have allowed the auto industry to renegotiate its bloated union contracts, to refinance unsustainable pension programs, and to eliminate unnecessary real estate costs.

• The auto industry would have emerged from a managed bankruptcy as a slimmer, more efficient manufacturing machine, one that could compete on the global market and return America to its leading position in the automotive industry.

• The Obama bailout failed, and $85 billion later, the Obama Administration and the automakers finally took Governor Romney’s advice and entered into a managed bankruptcy.

• Only after emerging from the bankruptcy process were the automakers able to start growing again.

• President Obama’s mishandling of the auto bailout has cost the taxpayers more than $23 billion.

Crony Capitalism At Its Worst

• Instead of doing the right thing and standing up to union bosses, Obama rewarded them. This was crony capitalism on a grand scale.

• A labor union that had contributed millions to Democrats and his election campaign was granted an ownership share of Chrysler and a major stake in GM, two flagships of the industry. The U.S. Department of Treasury — American taxpayers — was asked to become a majority stockholder of GM.

• American taxpayers have been left on the hook for billions to benefit unions and the union bosses who contributed millions to Barack Obama’s election campaign. The Obama administration needs to act now to divest itself of its ownership in GM.

• The shares need to be sold in a responsible fashion and the proceeds turned over to the nation’s taxpayers.

• We should not be back on a road like the one that brought us Freddie Mac and the housing crisis. It is a road with endless hazards. It is not the American way of making cars.

Where Are The Jobs???
February 17, 2012, will be exactly 3 years since President Obama signed his infamous stimulus package into law. It was a plan designed to create jobs by growing the size of government, and its record has not been good.

Democrats said their costly plan ($1.2 trillion, including interest) would “save or create” up to 4 million jobs and bring the unemployment rate down to about 6% today. The unemployment rate has not fallen below 8% at any point in the last 36 months. Furthermore, the official unemployment rate does not actually count unemployed people who have given up looking for work.

The above chart shows the “labor force participation rate.” This statistic represents the share of working-age Americans who are either employed or unemployed but looking for work. It is not a pretty picture. Only 63.7% of working-age Americans are currently in the workforce – the lowest in almost 29 years!

To put it another way, 36.3% of working-age Americans do not have a job and are not even looking.

After 3 years of failure, it’s time to try something that will work. Let’s ramp up energy production. Let’s cut away government red tape that slows down job creation. And let’s design new tax code that is simpler, flatter, and fairer. Let’s pass the Jobs Through Growth Act, and create jobs by growing the economy – not the government.

Daily Kos Encourages DemocratsTo Make Mischief In Republican Primary – Wonder Why???
Democrats would rather have Rick Santorum than Mitt Romney to run against…organizing efforts nationwide…and in Michigan too. They believe having someone who is running as a social conservative, pro-labor Republican would be easier to beat. Republican primary voter beware!

Romney wins CPAC Straw Poll
A big victory at the largest gathering of conservative activists in Ameirca! “Mr. Romney’s 38 percent of the vote among CPAC activists is the highest of any candidate since George W. Bush won 42 percent of the vote in 2000, en route to the nomination and the White House.”

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/feb/11/romney-wins-washington-timescpac-straw-poll/

Obama’s Super PAC sells “ACCESS” – Where is the OUTRAGE on the Left or Mainstream Media?
HYPOCRISY on the LEFT!!! “By granting permission for White House staffers and Cabinet secretaries to appear at super PAC events, the White House has returned to a system where corporate donors, unions and other wealthy individuals are able to pay big money for access to policymakers, lawmakers and key administration aides.”

http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/02/m-to-see-a-cabinet-secretary-new-obama-ruling-reopens-114326.html

Clark Durant and those “early polls” – Some Facts.
These polls are NOT surprising nor are they very telling this early in the process. Let’s put things in perspective and remember August is a long way away!
• Clark is in the same position that Rick Snyder was at this point two years ago.
• This race isn’t about poll numbers, it’s about Michigan over Washington; it’s about real-world experience versus career politicians like Congressman Pete Hoekstra and big-moneyed special interests.
• Early polling doesn’t matter. A lead in a new poll and a buck-fifty will get you a cup of coffee, but that’s about all it’s worth. If early polling mattered, the presidential primary season would already be decided.
• All this poll shows is that more people right now know Congressman Pete Hoekstra. And that only stands to reason since Congressman Hoekstra has been running for one political office or another for the last 20 years.
• These numbers represent a high-water mark for Congressman Hoekstra. Look back to February 2010 when Congressman Hoekstra was running for Governor. He led Rick Snyder by a considerable margin only to lose to the first-time candidate August primary.
• The issues that drove the 2010 gubernatorial race are the same driving the race for US Senate: Michiganders are fed up with career politicians and want leaders who come with a record of success in the private sector. Congressman Hoekstra spent 18 years in Congress and then went on to become a Washington DC lobbyist. More of the same is not going to change Washington.

Taiwan – RNC Delegation
I was honored to be part of an RNC Delegation that visited the country of Taiwan. A strategic trading and security partner in the Asia-Pacific region, Taiwan has many unique challenges as it manages it’s relationship with mainland China. We, the United States of America, have long supported their desire from greater economic and political freedom. They are an example and model of democracy for China and others. I was honored to participate in this mission and will encourage Congress to continue to support the brave people of Taiwan in their quest for freedom through democratic means.

As China’s future President visits the United States this last week, we are all reminded that many challenges that lie ahead of us. Taiwan deserves our support and at the very least, the free people of Taiwan should be allowed to decide for themselves whether they ultimately seek independence or some form of unification.

PEW Study: 1.8 Million Dead People Still Registered To Vote“A new report by the Pew Center on the States finds that more than 1.8 million dead people are currently registered to vote. And 24 million registrations are either invalid or inaccurate.
There’s little evidence that this has led to widespread voter fraud, but it has raised concerns that the system is vulnerable.”

Where Are The Jobs?!?

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

CPAC Fires Up Conservatives!
As always, a great conference as thousands of conservative activists from around the country showed up for “renewal”!

Presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum fired up the troops.

Senator Mike Lee, stalwart conservative and Tea Party favorite addressed the conference and then announced he was endorsing Michigan’s Clark Durant for U.S. Senate! He and his fellow conservatives Jim DeMint, Rand Paul and a few others need a strong ally…and Clark Durant is that man!

Murphy: Durant would be stronger in the general“I just saw the idiotic ad…A Detroit area Republican would do better than a western Michigan Republican. Western Michigan will be there for any Republican. Clark’s got a Detroit story, is well-known in conservative circles and could cut into Debbie’s eastern Michigan base…I just think you’ve got a lot of Hoekstra staff trying to explain to their candidate why they just blew his hand off.”

Will Pete Hoekstra’s Super Bowl ad cost him more than money?“From a strategy standpoint, it wasn’t a very smart move,” said Anuzis, who supports Clark Durant in the race to unseat Stabenow. “It’s kind of leading with your chin because now this is the issue he raised and he’s highlighted some of his vulnerabilities.”

Justice Ginsburg Should Resign
Justice Ginsburg, despite her high rank, does not understand that the Constitution is a charter of limited government.

Powerful GOP-Linked Super PAC Has Clear Agenda
“They have the credibility. People trust them,” says Saul Anuzis, a longtime Republican National Committee member from Michigan. “They know that none of them are strident or ideologues in that regard. They’re party people.”

As the two parties and their outside allies brace for the general election, Anuzis breaks down the financial battle this way: “A third of all the money spent on federal elections will come from candidates; a third will come from the parties and a third will come from these independent groups and superPACs.”

Romney Can Be the Next Reagan
Romney is something we haven’t seen for a while in America– a benevolent family man. He’s the well-meaning father who knows how to do the right thing even if he can’t always express himself. Liberals are beginning to notice this and feel uneasy.

GOOGLE at CPAC – A Few Questions?

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Glad Google is Sponsoring CPAC..but have some questions…

Google has consistently showed it is a liberal company, supporting liberal causes and candidates.

Google supports MoveOn.org

As early as 2006, NewsBusters reported that Google had donated more than $1 million to left-of-center Moveon.org and that Moveon was using the money to fund its operations in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, and Missouri.

In 2007, blogger Michele Malkin reported that Google was banning anti-Moveon ads placed by Republican groups because the use of the name Moveon on anti-Moveon merchandise abused trademark law.

So which conservative group gets Google’s support???

Google supports liberal candidates

Google donated over $1 million to President Obama’s campaign and reaped huge returns on its investment – Google has been rewarded with over 25 contracts with government agencies including the NASA, the Pentagon and the National Security Agency.

Google officials and family members made $3.4 million in campaign donations over the last three election cycles, mostly to Democrats, according to records.

In 2011, Google was caught up in a story that accused them of giving special ad deals to President Obama’s re-election campaign, while refusing to give the same deal to Republicans

So which conservative Republicans has Google supperted? Any of our presidential candidates?

Google supports liberal policies

In September 2011, Google chairman Eric Schmidt said cutting spending during a slow economy is “ludicrous,” and argued for more stimulus spending.

Eric Schmidt said that he thinks Congress needs to pass President Obama’s jobs bill as soon as possible.

Has Google supported Balancing our Budget, cutting taxes and/or government?

Google is in hot water on several fronts

They collect EVERYTHING about us, track every move…and then sell that data for their profit while making “Big Brother” look benevolent.

Last year Google paid $500 million to settle an investigation that proved the company knowingly took money from fake Canadian pharmacies for ads placed on Google, a dangerous and illegal practice. In 2008, Google was taken to court in England for refusing to allow search results on abortion to come up from religious groups, citing it as “inappropriate content.” They were forced reverse the policy in an out-of-court settlement.

Eric Schmidt was forced to defend Google’s dominance in the search marketplace in a Senate hearing, giving unsatisfactory answers to many of the Senators.

Has Google’s folks ever read Orwell’s 1984 or our Constitution?
