UPDATE: 2/8/20

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/80123-tarkanian-trips-over-reagans-credo

The Hill - see video here:

Tarkanian trips over Reagan's credo
Did Danny Tarkanian confuse Ronald Reagan with ... Harry Reid?

The clip above shows Tarkanian, who is in a wide open GOP primary to face Reid this year, stumbling over his words as he apparently tries to talk about Reagan's "11th Commandment" -- thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.

Tarkanian repeatedly says Reid's name rather than Reagan's and calls the pledge the "11th Amendment."

It's rather bizarre, really.

Here's a transcript of Tarkanian's comments:

I must correct the gentleman over here who made the comment about Harry Reid and the 11th Amendment. Harry Reid's comment about the 11th Amendment was, 'Thou shalt not attack a fellow Republican personally.' If you remember Harry Reid, in his campaign against George W. Bush -- George H. Bush -- there was a lot of differences in philosophy that Harry Reid brought up and distinguished himself from. In this campaign, my campaign has done exactly the same thing.

The clip was posted to YouTube by a user called "AnyoneButTark." That YouTube page also includes video from the same forum of Tarkanian talking about being recruited by the NRSC in 2004 -- which his opponents will use to try to question his outsider credentials -- and a clip of him admitting he has had "problems with the NRA."

I don't believe Ron Paul made those comments.

There's a few parts of the comment that made me leary.

The first was that number 5 in regards to the Guantanamo detainees, reading them miranda rights and Obama sending them to live in Bermuda in freedom.

Huh?

Number 7: "What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America."

What?

Number 11: "(And maybe under review by ACORN.) Hopefully you realize the significance of taking the census away from the Commerce Department and placing it under the White House, where Acorn has been given broad authority to manage it.
If we don't do everything in our power to stop this madness in 2010 and 2012, may God have mercy on our souls.

Does this sound like Ron Paul? "May God have mercy on our souls?"

While some of the above can be contributed to Ron Paul, the rest is just mixing Ron Paul's name in with Republican propaganda. While flattering that they would use Ron Paul's name to further the Republican agenda, he did not say those things.

Instead, he said; "What if?"

One other point, I agree that the 2010 elections will be vitally important on many fronts. While we will be on different sides of the issues, we are blessed as a nation to be able to argue like crazy about them. Deo gracias!

Given the legacy of the George W. Bush administration all 11 of your assertions are either overstated or outright inaccurate. President Bush was the biggest spender of all time mounting wars on two fronts, together with his predecessor Bill Clinton substantially relaxing appropriate oversight over financial institutions and Wall Street which have fiduciary responsibility for our pensions. As for Mr Obama, I respectfully disagree with your characterizations of both his policies and motives. Who got us into this mess?

Saul's Comment: Whatever happened in the past and regardless of who's fault it maybe...Obama's policies, spending and deficits are making it worse. Increasing the annual deficit by over a TRILLION $$$ DOLLARS is not the solution nor the cure for overspending and debt.
