Hello Everyone:

For any of you who are going to the Republican Convention on Friday and Saturday May 18 & 19, I would like to ask and urge you to support Saul Anuzis for National Committeeman. I have known him for well over a decade and, as a motorcycle rider himself, he has always been a strong advocate for Conservatives AND the motorcycling community.

He has participated in our “Freedom” Rallies in Lansing and included us (motorcyclists) in any political dialogue we ask about.

<

Saul is a STRONG conservative voice for our party and has been a leader among Republicans across the country.

As for the matter involving the delegate count controversy, he has addressed the issue to my satisfaction and has eliminated any concerns that I may have had. His intensity and tenacity on any topic he addresses has always impressed myself and his collegues.

Again, I strongly urge you to support Saul Anuzis for National Committeeman. He has my support and I hope we can count on your support also.

If you have any questions or need additional info, please feel free to contact me @ 734-578-6144. Ride safe and ride free.

Thanks,
Jim Rhoades - Legislative Director

Saul Anuzis has earned my vote for Michigan’s Republican National Committeeman! Saul has served the Republican Party, and Michigan Republicans, for nearly three decades. In recent years, his work as Michigan Republican Party Chairman, and National Committeeman, reveals his commitment to our shared conservative principles. Saul understands the value of communication in this digital age, and has reached-out to Michigan Republicans through his weekly emails and other forms. He knows his way around the political landscape, and commands respect on a national level.

Saul has signed a written pledge to represent the will of the Precinct Delegates (who will re-elect him at the state convention). He also agreed–in writing–to coordinate with conservative coalition partners, such as the Tea Party. Saul’s long history of conservative political activism, and his pledge to continue these efforts, has earned my vote. I encourage all Delegates to re-elect Saul Anuzis as our National Committeeman.

Dear Delegates & Alternates:

Delegates and Alternates to the Michigan Republican Party convention this weekend will have the opportuniy to re-elect Saul Anuzis as National Committeeman. Saul is a unique and effective leader for the Party, not just in Michigan, but across the United States.

Since being the youngest delegate at the 1980 national Convention that nominated Ronald Reagan, Saul has served our Party in every election cycle and in many different positions.

Saul served as state party chairman during both 2006 and 2008. Many have said he had the misfortune of presiding over two of the most difficult elections for Republicans, not just in Michigan, but across the nation. We take a different perspective – the Michigan GOP had the good fortune to have Saul Anuzis at the helm during difficult times.

On October 2, 2008 the John McCain campaign made a public announcement that it was abandoning Michigan, and pulling out dozens of key staff and more than $6 million dollars that Michigan candidates up and down the ticket were counting on. Republicans running for office all over the state were left exposed.

But Saul Anuzis refused to give up. He set off on what he called his ‘Fight to the Finish Tour’ and rallied Republicans all across Michigan to dig even deeper for our candidates and our Get Out the Vote efforts. Thousands of volunteers doubled down on their commitment to the Party and put in countless hours that made the difference in scores of state, county, and local races.

Just as important, Saul pulled together a small group of committed donors who yielded more than $2 million during the last 30 days before Election Day to help fill the void left by the McCain retreat. This money couldn’t prevent some key losses, but it did help minimize them to the extent possible.

Those last 30 days of the 2008 campaign didn’t define Saul’s record. Rather, they underscored his leadership and character. Saul leads by example. He is a steadfast believer in our Party and conservative principles. He empowers. He’s accessible. He’s accomplished. Saul Anuzis inspires people to do and achieve more than they otherwise would.

•	During his tenure as Michigan Republican Party Chairman, Saul raised more than $29 million from 122,183 contributions. He attracted 19,966 new donors to the Party.

•	Saul has always been committed to building local party efforts and empowering the grassroots. He heightened the level of staff, dollars, technologies, and other resources that went to the direct benefit of local candidates, local party efforts, and local causes.

•	Saul moved the state party headquarters to what is now the Secchia-Weiser Republican Center and invested in upgrades and innovative use of communications and campaign tools and technologies. The Republican National Committee tapped Saul to help spearhead their efforts to advance technology and use of social media.

•	More than 1.8 million new Republican voters were identified during the time Saul was chair and countless millions of voter contacts were made. In fact Michigan contributed roughly 8 percent of the nationwide vote, but more than 15 percent nationwide of the measurable outreach to prospective voters – phone calls, door knocks, etc.

•	Saul stepped up efforts to confront voter fraud and ushered in internal Party election reform that now requires party convention elections to be conducted by paper ballots with strict guidelines for participation only from eligible delegates.

•	Saul served as a tireless spokesman for the Party in newspapers and on radio and television shows in Michigan and across the country.
After he served his two terms as Chairman, it wasn’t long until the Michigan Republican Party again called upon Saul – this time to fill a vacancy on the Republican National Committee. Saul has stepped into his role as National Committeeman with the same vigor and enthusiasm as he has every other role in which he’s served the Party.

Saul commands a national stage, helping to yield resources that benefit the Michigan Party. And Saul still spends thousands of hours traveling Michigan to benefit candidates and empower the grassroots.

For more than 30 years, Saul has worked tirelessly for the Michigan Republican Party and its candidates. He has ben a ceaseless advocate for conservative principles since his days as a college Republican. He’s been an exemplary leader in our Party.

Saul loves serving the Michigan Republican Party, and the Party benefits every day from his service. We urge you to vote to re-elect Saul Anuzis as National Committeeman.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Spence Abraham
State Chairman 1983-1991

Susy Avery
State Chairman 1995-1996

Tea Party Nation Founder Justin Phillips Endorses Saul Anuzis for re-election as RNC National Committeeman – read why!

http://www.teapartynation.com/forum/topics/saul-anuzis-for-republican-national-committeeman

As someone who has been involved in the Tea Party movement since its beginnings in February 2009 and someone who has been involved as a Republican since I was 13 years old in 1972, putting out yard signs for Richard Nixon, I believe it is important we have good conservative leaders in the Republican Party.

That is why I encourage my friends in Michigan to vote for Saul Anuzis to be reelected to as the National Committeeman from Michigan.

Why Saul?

Saul and I do not see eye to eye on every issue. That means two things. First, Saul has room to grow. Second, we conservatives and we Republicans do not demand ideological conformity. We believe in liberty and liberty means you have the right to make up your mind on major issues.

There is one crucial issue that Saul and I are in lock step on.

That is the role of the Tea Party in the Republican Party.

We in the Tea Party tend to speak in less than kind terms about the “Republican establishment.” The feeling seems to be mutual. Many in the so-called Republican establishment simply want the Tea Party activists and the other grass roots activists to show up, do the boots on the ground heavy lifting at campaign time, then go away until we are needed at the next campaign.

Saul understands one simple truth. Without the involvement of the Tea Party, there will be no Republican Party. The Tea Party in many ways is the heart and the soul of the Republican Party. We are the ideological heirs to Ronald Reagan.

If the top leadership chooses to shut the Tea Party out, the Tea Party will find another way to be involved and work to save our nation. Saul understands the Tea Party must be at the table as equal partners in the Republican Party.

Saul has been involved with the Tea Party movement in Michigan and has repeatedly supported Tea Party objectives of fiscal restrain, limited constitutional government and free markets. Saul is one of the very few RNC members who has reached out to me and to other Tea Party leaders. He has been involved in Tea Party events in Washington and he has always tried to include the Tea Party as a part of the team in Washington.

We need Saul Anuzis on the Republican National Committee and I encourage all of my friends and fellow Tea Party activists in Michigan to support Saul’s reelection.

Judson Phillips

Founder, Tea Party Nation.

Hi, all,

I know, Just what you wanted to see in the subject line, huh…;o). Seriously. several of you have asked me about my endorsement of Saul for MI-GOP National Committeeman, so I thought I’d just do it once in this form.

We’ve all seen the e-mails going back and forth concerning this race for a couple weeks or so now. Basically, I think we have A LOT more important things to be investing our time in than dealing with what I see as essentially a “manufactured crisis”, and so I’ll say right up-front that this is not a hill I intend to die on.

However, I must also tell you from first-hand experience, the Yobs (i.e. Agema’s “strategists”), as well their operatives and local contract employees’ here in SE MI, I believe have been instrumental in creating a negative atmosphere, unnecessarily discouraging and frustrating precinct delegates, and involving grassroots volunteers unwittingly in their personal feuds. I won’t go into detail here since we’re all busy – besides, most of us who have been involved in the MI-GOP for more than a couple years are aware of it.

On the other hand, Saul helped work through those messes and repair damaged relationships with precinct delegates. I and other GOP ‘08 Victory Center directors remember and still appreciate Saul running all over the state helping us rally the volunteers, getting us needed materials, etc., after McCain pulled out of MI in Oct. of ‘08, taking our entire campaign infrastructure with him. In addition, the previous April 15th, 2008, he attended the FIRST Lansing Capitol “Tea Party” event Joan Fabiano held. I was there and remember …Debbie DeBacker and I were there and I gave Saul a tea bag, daring him to go up and give it to Lt. Gov. John Cherry, which he did….even engaging a flustered-looking Cherry in conversation about it for the reporters standing around. (that was actually pretty funny…:o).

Also, Saul supported precinct delegate preference as elected state convention delegates and alternates, as well as supported secret ballot voting at state conventions. I was there as a proxy, saw/heard him (and I voted for those, too).

That being said, Saul and I don’t always agree on issues/candidates (definitely including NPV), though we were both generally respectful when we agreed to disagree, and our differences were more about process than conservative principles. I didn’t endorse him for National Committeeman because we always agree – it’s because he’s proven he has more than enough experience, networking, knowledge, and general street cred to continue to do that job well. He is an energizer bunny, supports the fiscal and social conservative tenets of the GOP national party platform, great at multi-tasking and time management, and knows this job inside and out.

For the record, I think Rep. Agema is a good man, and I suppose he’d be a decent National Committeeman, though his honorable military record, flying a commercial airplane and legislative career don’t necessarily constitute a great resume’ for THIS job. We already have a guy who has, is currently, and I believe will continue to do this job well from day-one.

I think Saul’s “Open Letter” outlines his credentials and resume’ very well….and shows why I don’t think he deserves to be kicked to the curb:

http://www.thatssaulfolks.com/2012/05/08/an-open-letter-from-saul-anuzis/

Saul also has many endorsers which include everyone from Tea Partiers and their leadership, to long-time Republican congressmen, to well-respected state-wide GOP office-holders and lots of others – ALL of whom want Republicans to work the best we can together.

http://www.thatssaulfolks.com/2012/03/28/mi-endorsements-of-saul-anuzis-for-national-committeeman/

To be an effective state-wide party leader, you must build working coalitions, and Saul has done that.

Again, let’s please primarily consider the overall big picture and the long-term good of the MI-GOP. The road to the White House does indeed go through Michigan, and we don’t need to try to recover from a circular firing squad before we must conduct an effective presidential campaign. Let’s instead get on with the VERY important work of defeating the Democrats in an effective and unified manner. So much depends on us getting it right this time!

Just my 2-cents, for whatever it’s worth (and to those of you who don’t care what I think, sorry to have bothered you…;o). Regardless, thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing you Friday night.

Subject: If the truth matters…My closing Argument

Allow me to make my case for why you should consider voting for me for National Committeeman.

However, before I do…there are so many rumors, lies and misrepresentations of the facts and events floating around online, I feel compelled to respond.

RNC Made Calls for Anuzis
Not true. I paid for the calls. I sent the script to a reporter immediately upon being questioned about the call, proving there was NO intention to mislead or imply that the RNC had anything to do with the call.

John Yob received the call, taped it and got the caller to say…incorrectly…that this was an RNC call. The caller made a mistake. Once I was made aware of the call, I notified the call center and they made sure all the callers stuck to the script.

The script specifically stated that if asked, to say the call was being made on behalf of Saul Anuzis. I had them list my home/office number on the caller id. There was NO deliberate attempt at any deception…rather an innocent mistake by a caller (and someone who received that call willing to use that mistake for their own political advantage).

Anuzis Got the Delegate List First
Not true. Dave Agema’s office was on the phone the same time I was on calling district and county chairs, as well as other activists getting any available early copies of delegate lists. They were not yet certified, but by getting early copies and/or partial delegate lists as reported by my supporters, I was able to start my phone canvassing on Monday.

Once I got the full certified list…at the same time everyone else did…I merged the lists and continued my canvassing of the rest of the delegates and alternates.

Dave Agema’s office was making calls and getting list from folks the EXACT same way I was. This is bogus conspiracy to make my work for votes look bad…there was NOTHING wrong or unethical about my actions. Don’t we want a hard working Committeeman?

The “dele-gate” so called scandal
There was NO scandal, no changing the rules after the fact and no gamesmanship with regard to delegates.

After the primary, the Credentials Committee voted to uphold the rules that were previously passed. Those rules provided for “slotting” of the delegates under the RNC imposed penalty provisions. Therefore, since Romney won the most votes in Michigan, he received the first 2 at-large delegates while the district delegates were split 50/50. The remaining at-large delegates were also split 7 each.

Anuzis Supports Affirmative Action
NOT true. I do not support Affirmative Action or Quotas. Never have. During the 2006 elections, our gubernatorial nominee came out against MCRI because he was concerned about any potential “unintended” consequences. The State Party discussed this situation and decided NOT to take an official position on the ballot proposal and that if publicly asked I would mimic the position of our nominee…to avoid any embarrassment or perceived disagreement with our nominee. I did NOT campaign against the proposal, the party did NOT spend a penny opposing the proposal and to the best of my knowledge, virtually every member of the State Committee supported the proposal.

Agema is MORE Conservative – The REAL Conservative
Not true…Dave Agema and I agree 100% on every issue that I am aware of. We share the same values. Both were early supporters of Romney. He has recently flip-flopped on the National Popular Vote, but political expediency does not qualify as being “more conservative” in my book.

National Popular Vote
We both support/ed National Popular Vote. Dave Agema served in the legislature for 3 terms (6 years). His first term he voted for the bill, his second term he co-sponsored the bill and his third term he asked to be the “lead co-sponsor” of the bill, signing the blue back (bill) before he decided to pull his name off the bill and run against me.

As National Committeeman I NEVER sponsored, voted or debated in favor of ANY resolution in front of the National Committee or State Committee. I was not and am not a lobbyist and NEVER talked to a single Michigan legislator in favor of the bill. I wrote a letter expressing my support for the concept and sent it to Republican activists when I took my public position after McCain’s pull out of Michigan. I later did some consulting work for their organization.
The RNC, State Party and Legislature have ALL come out against this proposal, its dead and therefore a moot issue from the perspective of the National Committeeman.

So Why Anuzis?!?
I am a “party guy” who has worked his way through the ranks. I’ve volunteered at every level of politics and have been lucky enough to actually work on many campaigns. I understand how campaigns are run, how state, local and national parties work…and will be an effective representative for Michigan on day #1.

I’m a solid conservative who has and will effective fight to bring resources, speakers and other RNC related benefits to Michigan and Michigan candidates.
I was there the day John McCain’s campaign pulled out of Michigan. They shuttered their operation literally the day before absentee ballots were supposed to be mail out. They pulled their absentee ballot operation, and virtually knee-capped the entire voter turnout operation for the state. We lost 2 Congressman and 9 members of the State House. Chuck Yob, National Committeeman and McCain Co-Chair, let that happen. I never will. It MATTERS who you have on the RNC. It’s not a symbolic vote, it’s a vote to bring resources home to this state, resources for the fight to carry this state for Mitt Romney, and to retire Debbie Stabenow. I know how to make that happen, because I have the experience and the influence to make sure that nobody walks away from Michigan ever again.

This job is ALL about politics and electing Republicans. I think my background and qualifications make me uniquely qualified to serve as your National Committeeman.

And as grassroots volunteers and activists you deserve to know and be trusted with the WHOLE truth – not only what some want you to know. Whether we agreed or disagreed, I’ve always respected you enough to tell you the whole truth, and I don’t intend to stop now.

I humbly ask for your vote and support this coming weekend.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

See you Friday and keep the faith!

Subject: On Saul Anuzis for Republican National Committeeman from Michigan

Dear Friends:

I have known Saul Anuzis for over 20 years. Saul is a friend of mine, and, as you well know, he is running for re-election as Republican National Committeeman from Michigan. I want to take a moment to pass along a few of my thoughts with regard to Saul’s candidacy.

Saul and I first met on the campus of Hillsdale College during my junior year, shortly after the Berlin Wall fell. I distinctly remember him reveling in the collapse of the Soviet Union, speaking in Lithuanian with a fellow Cold Warrior, the late Hillsdale Professor Alex Shtromas. I also remember Saul eagerly looking forward to the great opportunity the 1990 election cycle presented. He is today who he was then.

Saul is a quick thinker, a seasoned strategist and tactician. He is intense, hard-charging, scrappy, and has a passion for a lot of things, including Harley Davidsons. He has a record of accomplishments as a senior staff member in the state legislature, as a businessman, and as Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. Over the course of more than three decades in politics, Saul has served as a trusted adviser to many of our state’s distinguished conservative Republican leaders, perhaps most notably, former Lieutenant Governor Dick Posthumus.

While Saul and I agree on virtually all issues, we have had our occasional differences in our support of candidates, such as recently when I served as Senator Rick Santorum’s Political Director for his presidential campaign in Michigan while Saul served as a leading adviser to Governor Romney. Last week Saul and I met for over an hour to talk through those differences, as well as to remind ourselves of the vast areas in which we agree.

Our conversation was collegial and candid, and it was focused on the urgent need for principled conservative leadership that listens to and provides a voice to our fellow activists in the Republican Party who are pro-life and supporters of the principles of the Tea Party, while working to heal any differences that exist following the competitive presidential primary. Saul assured me he would continue to be such a leader and would represent the conservative cause at the state and national conventions, as well as in a Romney Administration. Saul further reassured me that he will always listen to differing views about how to best advance our conservative principles and will always be open to constructive criticism – unafraid to acknowledge the occasional missteps we all make in politics, and sincere in working to make them right. I am confident that thousands of Michigan Republican conservative activists would agree that – regardless of which candidate they supported for President in the recent primary – Saul is among the most accessible leaders our party has ever had.

With respect to the matter involving the controversy surrounding the delegate count, upon reading the correspondence of Senator Santorum’s legal counsel Cleta Mitchell, to the Michigan Republican Party, which in part read: “… after being reassured that no Santorum supporters are being disenfranchised or excluded from the process, and being advised that there will be Santorum supporters (albeit officially uncommitted) as allowed under the party rules and proportionate to the primary results, Senator Santorum has instructed me to withdraw the appeal,” for me, this matter is resolved. I do hope the Michigan Republican Party reviews what occurred and makes any necessary adjustments to avoid such a controversy happening in the future so that grassroots conservatives can have the utmost confidence in the leadership of our party.

Saul is an unapologetic Constitutional conservative dedicated to advancing the principles of the Republican Party and Republican candidates, and, in light of the battle that lies ahead this election cycle, it is important to have a seasoned hand and an energetic warrior for freedom like Saul serving in the capacity of Michigan’s Republican National Committeeman.

The depth and breadth of Saul’s experience and background uniquely qualifies him to continue serving as the Republican National Committeeman from Michigan, and he is in my view certainly worthy of re-election. He will continue to serve the party ably. Saul has my support, and I hope he can count on yours, too.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Joseph Cella
Former MI Political Director
Santorum for President Campaign

An interesting article about Ron Paul supporter’s strategy at this weekend’s convention.

A shocking revelation that Dave Agema will NOT support Ron Paul if he’s the Republican Party’s nominee.

This is unbelievable. A Republican National Committeeman or any Republican official should feel obligated to support whomever our nominee is. We fight for our first choice in primaries and caucuses…but when the party nominates a candidate…if you’re a party person, you rally behind our nominee. It’s not always your first choice, but it’s OUR nominee.

I personally think this should disqualify anyone from holding a leadership role in the Republican Party. Ron Paul deserves the same respect, support and effort from the Republican Party as any other potential nominee.

Paul Campaign Trains Supporters On How To Win Delegate Slots

Ron PAUL’s Michigan campaign Friday night hosted an extensive, three-hour webinar in which it trained its supporters on how they can become delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August and how they can be part of a larger, national strategy to initiate the GOP’s first brokered convention since 1948.

Part of the strategy includes being coy at this weekend’s Michigan Republican Party’s state convention about who they are supporting for president, going as far as suggesting Paul supporters wear Mitt ROMNEY stickers before the congressional caucus votes for its three official voting delegates and its alternates.

The coaching came before Paul supporters’ attempt in Oklahoma turned violent and other procedural takeovers were attempted in Idaho and Arizona. Attempts in Minnesota and other states already have been successful (See “Ron Paul Backers Make Play For Santorum’s ‘Uncommitted’ Delegates,” 5/11/12).

After notching some successes at county conventions the Thursday before last, Paul’s leadership team coached their supporters to be respectful, but also gave them a full lesson in party rules and Mason’s Rules of Order. MIRS watched much of the three-hour video before it was made private on YouTube over the weekend.

Paul supporters were told to be firm and to not be allowed to be “bullied” by Romney supporters and the “establishment” to buckle.

On today’s MIRS Monday podcast, Michigan Republican National Committeeman Saul ANUZIS said while it’s not likely that Paul’s supporters will takeover the state convention over the weekend, it is possible.
Podcast Powered By Podbean

The convention at Cobo Hall in Detroit and it’s quite possible that the regular rank-and-file Republican will find something else to do with their weekend, thinking the race is over . . . that Romney is the presumptive nominee and there’s no point in showing up. Paul supporters will be there regardless, Anuzis said.

“It’s not a likely scenario, but there’s a chance,” he said. “If they had a majority on the floor, they could.”

The theory Paul supporters are using is that they can prevent Romney from getting the 1,144 delegates needed to be the presidential nominee if they don’t vote on the first ballot. While a state’s votes may be committed to Romney, there is no rule that the delegates casting the votes must vote. Once the first ballot is over, the delegates are free to vote how they want.

Anuzis said that he would vote for whoever the Republican nominee is.

“That’s what we, as Republican leaders, accept. We have to put together a center-right coalition sometimes,” he said.

Rep. Dave AGEMA (R-Grandville), who could be the benefactor of the Paul takeover since he’s challenging Anuzis for National Committeeman, declined to comment on the possibility.

“That’s a hypothetical . . . I’m not going to let you get into that one. I’m not going there,” he said.

During the Paul webinar, much was made about Anuzis and the “Dele-gate” issue from the Feb. 28 primary when Romney was given 16 of the state’s 30 voting delegates when Rick SANTORUM supporters used party rules to show that their candidate was due 15. Anuzis was the public Romney supporter at the time.

Paul supporters at the state convention could mean trouble for Anuzis if they vote for Agema. It’s an interesting anti-establishment alliance considering Paul is a social libertarian and doesn’t favor the United States’ participation in the current international conflict. Agema is a pro-military, social conservative.

What Others are saying About Saul Anuzis:

Mitt Romney: “Saul Anuzis is a widely respected leader of the conservative grassroots movement, not only in Michigan, but across the country.”

Newt Gingrich: “You have in Saul Anuzis one of the greatest State Chairman in the Republican Party, his courage, hard work and determination is extraordinarily important.”

Barb Listing – President, Michigan Right to Life: “Over the years . . . You have always reflected the belief in the sanctity of human life and the importance of advancing a culture of life. I want to thank you for your advice over the years which certainly has been helpful in building our strong statewide prolife organization.”

Human Events, Robert Bluey, 7/24/06: “Yes, it would certainly be nice to clone Saul. But wouldn’t it just be easier to elect him chairman of the Republican National Committee? … We at HUMAN EVENTS believe Saul is the best thing that happened to the GOP in Michigan. Republicans nationwide should be envious.”

Michael J. Bouchard, Oakland County Sheriff: “I have known Saul for more years than I will admit (he was 30 and I was 10!) He is tireless and a relentless GOP advocate who serves us well both at the RNC and in the battle with the real enemy.”

Reince Priebus, Chairman, Republican National Committee: “Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Republican National Committee…you continue to be a major factor in advancing the RNC’s new media success. With your hard work and dedication, the GOP holds a distinct advantage as we head into the 2012 election cycle.”

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. So, love the people who treat you right. Think good thoughts for the ones who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of LIFE…Getting back up is LIVING…

RNC race for National Committeeman
I would like to present you with some information about my candidacy for National Committeeman. I appreciate the time and effort so many of you have put into our party and like you, I have chosen to do my part for our cause and ask for your support.

This position is a volunteer “job” where neither the Republican National Committee nor the Michigan Republican Party reimburses us for our expenses, travel etc. We do it because we care about our party and our country.

I hope this information helps you make a better informed decision as to who has the strongest background in party politics, is an effective fundraiser, is best connected and understands the process to serve as our representative and most importantly, is ready to step in on day one and be an effective and strong voice on the RNC as one of Michigan’s two members.

There are some who find it hard to allow us to run on our merits and prefer negative campaigns, cheap shots and deceptive whisper campaigns. Their motives are less than honorable.

My goal and objective is to do all I can to help nominate conservative Republicans, at every level and to help elect those Republicans to public office. Retiring Obama & Stabenow are job #1!

Poll: Obama leads in Michigan BUT Below 50%
Regardless of female support, Obama’s overall support in Michigan is well below 50 percent. As an incumbent, Czuba said, that indicates the Democrat-leaning state may be in play come November; Obama won the state handily in 2008.

“This is not a slam dunk by any means,” Czuba said. “It’s a race.”

Indeed, Republicans said Obama’s support looks weak for an incumbent. “No. 1, this is great news,” said Saul Anuzis, former chairman of the state Republican Party and a member of the Republican National Committee. The poll “shows how much trouble (Obama’s) in. If Barack Obama loses Michigan, he loses the White House.”

Sabato: A Senate That’s Fit to Be Tied? Updating the Battle for Congress
Perhaps we’re heading toward another 2000 or 2004-style election: A close, gritty affair where neither side will score a towering victory. In other words, while it’s easy now to see either the Democrats or Republicans doing well in November, it’s hard to see either doing great, at least right now.

http://www.centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/a-senate-thats-fit-to-be-tied-updating-the-battle-for-congress/

Romney’s Path Is Not Necessarily Narrow
“What about if things break for Romney, and he is winning by four points as we approach Election Day? In that event, states like Pennsylvania and New Hampshire would fall into the GOP column, while Nevada, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and New Jersey are on his campaign’s radar screen. Colorado and Virginia are only on the outskirts of competitiveness for Team Obama. Under this scenario, it is Obama who has only one or two paths to victory, while Romney enjoys an embarrassment of riches.

In short, if this is a year like 2000 or 2004 — a mediocre playing field for Republicans — then yes, Romney has few paths to victory (although Obama’s own paths to victory will be narrowed from 2008). If, however, this turns out to be a good year for Republicans, the paths will multiply. It will be a long time before we can more or less rule out anything between a good (but not great) year for Republicans or a good (but not great) year for Democrats.”

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2012/05/08/romneys_path_is_not_necessarily_narrow.html

Playing Their Hand – Will hard times allow Mitt Romney to breach the Democrats’ formidable “blue wall” in November?
“Central to this role reversal is the rise of what I’ve called the “blue wall”: the 18 states that have voted Democratic in at least the past five consecutive presidential elections. Democrats have not won that many states so often since Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman carried 22 in each election from 1932 to 1948.

The blue wall encompasses the 11 states from Maryland to Maine (except New Hampshire); the three West Coast states; and Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Hawaii (plus the District of Columbia). Republicans carried 12 of these states at least four times from 1968 to 1988.”

http://nationaljournal.com/columns/political-connections/breaching-the-blue-wall–20120510

A Time for Choosing
“This issue of The American Spectator is dedicated to clarifying the choices facing the American people and demonstrating how the principles of choice and competition can be marshaled to place our entitlement programs on a sustainable financial foundation while allowing citizens the flexibility to adapt them to their personal circumstances.”

Each key voting bloc seen as complex, multifaceted
“President Obama and Mitt Romney, the Republican Party’s de facto nominee, will work to secure support from blacks, Hispanics, independents, women and young people.

Each of these subsets of the population is complex and multifaceted, with wide-ranging positions on social and fiscal issues. The Tribune-Review asked several strategists to gauge their political preferences”.
